Real Work
When I was young, I swore I’d never work a 9-to-5 job.
And I never have. It’s mostly been 8:30-to-5:30 or 9:30-to-5.
Audioengine
If you know me, you know I love the rock music. So I was thrilled to get to work on a company who makes amazing speakers that sound and look amazing. Audioengine was founded in Austin and creates speakers that work equally well in large rooms and desktops alike. The site was a big hit with client and customers alike. Plus, I’m very proud that I resisted the temptation to use phrases like “Are you ready to rock?”, “Let’s rock!”, and “Hello, Cleveland!”
Oilogic
Founded by two moms tired of going to drug stores in the middle of the night only to find no cough or cold remedies for their babies (a problem I’m all too familiar with), Oilogic is a dream client who needs help with every aspect of their marketing. So I got to work on a little of everything for them, including their website, social media, ads, and even video, like this one.
Warheads
Sometimes, producing an ad isn’t enough. You have to generate interest in the ad so that you can then generate interest in the product. To give us a head start on our competition, we enlisted the talents of a handful of YouTube influencers. Our youngest character, Walter, wasn’t an influencer at the time, but I’m pretty confident this spot changed that for him.
Lexol
Nothing – and I mean nothing – can promote a product better than a sporting controversy and in-your-face innuendo.
Behold. One client’s response to Super Bowl XLIX’s Inflate Gate scandal. Subtle, no?
Also, this was produced in the course of an afternoon. Speedy, no?
10 Commandments of the Serious Workplace
My friend Jim and the good folks at Twist and Shout came up with a brilliant idea: What if you injected some life into corporate training videos? So that’s what they did. They created corporate security and compliance training videos, disguised as sitcoms. It’s uncanny. Then they asked, what if we had a couple of videos done from the P.O.V. of the naysayers? Then they asked me to write and perform in them, since “naysayer” is in my repertoire of characters.
